I just got off the phone with my cousin Deb, who told me about a construction worker who was killed yesterday. He was hit by a car.
Check out this link. It has 2 stories about the incident. I found them easily after I googled them. CLICK HERE!!!
Maybe I’m more upset because my dad is a construction worker. He has been for about 30 years and he’s only a few years younger than the man who was killed. The stupid part about this whole story: He was hit by a drunk driver at 5:30 in the evening. Seriously if you feel the need to get drunk at dinner time, get help. Something is wrong. And DON’T DRIVE. You’re not only risking your own life but the life of anyone on the road, your potential path of destruction.
Deaths like this are sad because they are easily avoidable. So many lives are wrecked by poor decision making. The poor decision to get tanked in the early evening. The even poorer and illegal decision to drive after getting tanked.
He was a husband. A father. A friend. A son. He had a family. A family who relied on him, to come home every night. Something that is no longer going to happen.
This doesn’t just wreck his life but of the 69 year old who hit him. He’s wrecked his own life, as well as the people close to him. He is also husband, father, friend, and son. But you can’t be those things when you’re in prison, not a good one anyway.
Anyway I just wanted to vent because this really upset me.
RIP Luigi Stinellis.
