Honestly, stuff like this is so sad. I think situations like this can rattle a city. The death of police officer I always find is devastating. They are here to protect us, our communities and our cities, and I always find it so depressing when one passes away.
I haven’t read too many details about what has happened but York Regional Police Const. Garrett Styles, who was only 32 was killed performing a traffic stop by a 15-year-old. 15? Here’s the question, what the heck was this child doing behind the wheel of a vehicle? Someone is definitely still too young to drive. Not only is he most likely unlicensed, uninsured and driving with 3 other teens or minors possibly, he ended someone’s life for his actions.
The 15-year-old was driving a van which dragged the officer after it pulled the van over, then it flipped which pinned the officer to ground. Such a sad and painful way to die and such a horrible thing for his family to hear. The 15-year-old is in the hospital in serious condition but has been charged with 1st degree murder.
Situations like this are truly sad for all the parties involved. Styles has a wife, Melissa, and two children under the age of three. How do you explain a tragedy like this to them? You can’t. They won’t understand, especially his son who is only nine weeks.
As for the 15-year-old, who knows was scars or disabilities they will have incurred from this accident but they’ve destroyed their life. To know they’ve killed a police officer when they shouldn’t have even been driving. Would they ever want to drive again? Should they be allowed to?
I don’t even know what to say about how so many people are affected by this and unfortunate something like this. I just hope his family can stay strong. I always find that is such an odd thing to say because his family is going through a nightmare right now, there is no way they are going to be able to be strong but I hope they can lean on each other and help each other through this.
R.I.P.
