Don’t Hold This Against Me

Okay, so here is Ms. Britney Spears' new video. So much anticipation, so much hype for what really. This video is nothing special, though I have to admit I do enjoy it.

First off, Britney’s record company lost no money putting together this video. They probably made profits with all the product placement. Seriously though, in a music video? Take it down a notch. Sony and plentyoffish.com alone paid for the video. The ‘camera’ she zoomed in on, and the make up she also singled out, filled Ms. Spears’ wallet with dough.

Secondly, there was a big deal surrounding the issue of the dancing, that Britney didn’t do her own. Let me answer this for you. SHE DID HER OWN DANCING. Look at the video. There is nothing difficult about it. She’s flipping her hair, stepping back and forth but nothing to the extent she did before. I could have done this routine, doesn’t take a professional. The dancing looks best during the end sequence when Britney is wearing the black outfit, and when she spins around quickly. It throws you off and makes you believe the routine is difficult, but it truly isn’t. In her prime, Britney could keep up with her back up dancers. Now, she has to try hard to look as if she has any rhythm at all.

Thirdly Britney, at points in the video your lip syncing is off. C’mon Britney, you’re the PRO of lip syncing, it should have been flawless.

Lastly, I think you look great. The hair looks nice, the outfits were flattering and your body is probably in the best shape its been in since before you had children.

So I may not like the song, I may have teared apart aspects of video, I think you should completely retire from Hollywood and move back to Louisiana. But I think you look great, so congrats.

Till tomorrow, I owe you some more posts this week. I’ve been busy.
